Purposes of SGPT Blood Test
The SGPT test aims to determine the functioning of the liver, especially in the case of patients suffering from liver disorders. Its important function in diagnosis are
- Liver functioning: If people wish to know the health of their Liver. Then, they undergo the SGPT testing. The Doctor also suggests the Widal test if you have typhoid fever and impaired liver.

- Legs swelling: It is the accumulation of fluids in the legs. This condition is also known as Edema.
- Excessive bleeding or bruising: When the liver is damaged, there will be a release of SGPT into the bloodstream. This is more apparent in the cases of bruising or bleeding.
- Jaundice: It is the release of bilirubin in the blood. Jaundice causes the skin to appear pale and yellow.

High SGPT levels
