What is a Thyroid Profile Test?
A group of tests that reflects the working of thyroid glands is known as the thyroid profile. It helps doctors diagnose thyroid disorders. Thyroid problem arises when there is overproduction and underproduction of thyroid hormones.

There are no preparations required for this test. It is important to inform the doctor of any undertaking medications. As some medicines might interfere with thyroid profile tests. This usually does not require fasting or an empty stomach. However, in the case of only the TSH test, fasting is preferred.
Thyroid tests must be avoided in acute illness and in patients who are hospitalized.
